Rock Climbing in Tioga County, PA

There’s no experience necessary for you to enjoy a day of rock climbing in the Asaph Wild Area!

Check in with Pine Creek Outfitters in Ansonia, PA, by 9:00 am and their guides will lead you on a 1.8 mile hike to the top of the Asaph Wild Plateau. While they recommend hiking boots for the trip, you don’t need to worry about rock climbing gear. Everything you’ll need, from harnesses to helmets, rigging, and shoes will be provided by Pine Creek Outfitters — including lunch! Spend as much time as you like climbing the sandstone boulders here, as late as 4:00 pm. Beginners and kids are welcome.

When you’ve had enough, join us at the Penn Wells and enjoy Wellsboro’s laid-back atmosphere. There are plenty more adventures awaiting you in town, from quiet streets lined with Victorian homes to locally-owned boutique shops and one of the country’s last-remaining family-owned department stores. Enjoy dinner at the Hotel’s Mary Wells Dining Room and drinks in the Lounge, just on the other side of the lobby. And if climbing wasn’t enough for you, have another workout in the fitness center or a swim in the indoor pool at the Lodge. Stay at the Hotel for a trip back in time, or book a fireplace suite at the Lodge for an extra-special getaway.
