Wellsboro Winter Celebration

Wellsboro residents combat winter fatigue by coming out to play in a big way during the Winter Celebration, held annually on February WEEKENDS.

February in Wellsboro is filled with winter energy, special events, and plenty of reasons to escape cabin fever. The Penn Wells Hotel & Lodge welcomes guests throughout the month, with the Historic Hotel open for lodging every Friday and Saturday in February, and the Penn Wells Lodge remaining open daily.

The month kicks off with Ice Bar Weekend on February 6 & 7, featuring the return of the Penn Wells Ice Bar with an ice luge, live DJ, and a cozy courtyard setting at the Historic Hotel. Friday night offers an exclusive VIP experience, while Saturday is open to the public and pairs perfectly with ice skating, and live ice carving demonstrations happening throughout downtown Wellsboro. The celebration continues Saturday night at the Deane Center with “Ice Ice Baby,” a 90s DJ Party

Next is Valentine’s Weekend with Ice Sculptures on February 13 & 14. Celebrate with a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner in the Mary Wells Dining Room, chocolate-covered strawberries from Café 1905, and festive winter activities throughout town including a chili cook off, Valentine Cabaret presented by Hamilton Gibson Productions, ice skating, horse drawn wagon rides, and ice sculptures lining Main Street. Make it a true getaway by adding an overnight stay at the Historic Hotel or the Lodge.

February continues with Wellsboro Film Festival Weekend on February 20–22, bringing filmmakers and film lovers together for screenings, workshops, and special events hosted around town, including gatherings at the Penn Wells, screenings at the Arcadia Theatre, paint and craft activities, and Picasso at the Lapin Agile presented by Hamilton Gibson Productions, and more.

The month wraps up with Crafts & Cuisine Weekend on February 27 & 28, a community-wide celebration of local artisans and culinary creativity. Enjoy handcrafted goods, live demonstrations, Picasso at the Lapin Agile presented by Hamilton Gibson Productions, a Velveeta concert, and Culinary Coins food and beverage hopping that allows you to sample specialty drinks and appetizers at participating restaurants throughout Wellsboro, and more.
